A Day in the Sun  is a  film festival  that honors and celebrates the contributions and journeys of people dedicated to freedom, equality, civil and human rights.  We are excited to bring histories that have been marginalized into the forefront, and to awaken new audiences to the experiences of diverse cultures and communities.  We accept both narrative and documentary short films (44 minutes or less), that embody themes of equity, civil and/or human rights.

 

Our goal is to showcase compelling, little known histories and stories by independent filmmakers from around the world. Our  film festival has been moved from a live venue to a virtual space where we can share the work of our winners with a larger, global audience.
